An old electronics magazine published a project originally around 1980 for a learners micro based on the CDP1802 processor and the CDP1864 video processor.

This was my first computer and it was delivered in kit form all mounted on a 26cm by 10cm double sided (but not plated through) circuit board. Unfortunately it was junked when I purchased a Microbee kit (A Z80 based system in Australia) so I don't have ant pictures of it but it was mounted in a metal case and had a hex keypad.

I was really thrilled to write my own pong and worm game in that computer and I even used it to control a stage lighting system for beach concerts that operated around that time.

Unfortunately all my tapes and notes are gone but I still have a copy of the kit information in the ETI (Electronics Today International) Computers & Computing Yearbook 1982.

So when I get time I will scan the kit instructions (it has the code for the chip-8 monitor program) and publish them for all of the CDP1802 fans.

ps: I was amazed to see a CDP1802 Chip Selling for US$199 on an eBay store.

Hi,

It would be great if you can find the time to scan this design!

Hans

I have scanned the eti660 and although it has pcb layouts they are not to scale and at 150dpi the scans are over 15meg.

I will be uploading that to my forum at forums.wiseware.com.au in the next few days so you are welcome to join there but it uses points based access so introduce yourself to me and I will give you enough points to grab the information which is 60 pages long.

    Sorry

I will get things moving when it is a little cooler of a night time as my computer is overheating and shutting down.

We has three days of 44 to 47 degrees celsius and the cool change we were expecting is ranging from 33 to 38 degrees so over the next few days I will upload the eti660 stuff.

You also have permission to upload them to this site as long as you acknowledge where the information came from.

Ah, here in the Netherlands we have quite a cool period, freezing at night, cold wind at day. Wish it became spring!

Thanks for the hard work and the permission!

    Hans

The ETI660 info is now uploaded at the wiseware forums plus I have added the chip-8 programming guide and a few programs that were published for the ETI-660.

I uploaded a scan of an article about the cosmac vp111 computer there also.

I have a lot more old stuff I will slowly add to the forum that may interest some retro computer people like a 6800 based kit computer and a few s100 cards including a pcb pattern for a s100 bus backplane.

Sorry, it took longer than I expected. I have talked to wisey, the information on his site on the 1802 and this site will be there in the near future.
